About the Music

Singles for Purchase

Unrequited Love - A sexy rhythmic Latin Jazz instrumental that is great for dancing or just relaxing. The melody is primarily carried by a sweet jazz trumpet with the piano being the main harmonic accompaniment.

Yearnings - A powerful  jazz blues featuring the piano with brass, strings and harmonica along with bass and drums.

Enchantment - A very romantic soulful jazz number featuring the piano. The slow tremelo background strings enhance the emotion of the song.

Cruisin' - An up tempo jazz fusion instrumental with a large band arrangement and female choir voicings.

Blue Silk and Black Stockings - A smooth jazz instrumental featuring an electric piano with bass, drums and light strings.

Midnight Escapade This song has kind of a hard rock lead guitar with a very rhythmic bass pattern. There are also three keyboards and drums.

Lover's Lament  This is a very laid back smooth jazz song featuring sax lead with very soulful horns and stand-up bass.

Cos My Baby Done Me Wrong - This is a blues rock song that ventures far away from the standard blues changes. I recorded two rhythm guitar tracks,

one using bar chords and the other open chords. There were also lead guitar, bass, piano and drum tracks recorded.

Coyote Rag - This was a spontaneous ragtime jam that I came up with while testing a new portable studio that I had purchased.

Healing Power of Love - This is a pop type love ballad. I scored the strings and recorded them playing the MIDI. I still love playing the lead guitar in this song.

Dance of the Sea Nymphs - This was a fun challenge for me because it is so far outside my usual genre. It started as an experiment combining bi-tonal music with different modal scales. I originally just had keyboard and decided later to add orchestration and a bridge.

Flame In Your Heart - This song is very special to me because it was the first time that I had made a recording performing all of the tracks. A friend of

mine had loaned me a four track cassette recorder.

Lars  This was a happy little Latin number that I came up. I named it after my deceased dog Lars, who was so happy and energetic.

Miss Lovin' Gone Wild - I composed the lyrics and music to this song. It was done by a group that I was in called Rikter Skale. Carlos de la Cruz on vocals, lead guitar and percussion, Larry Abercrombie on rhythm guitar and percussion, Luis Maldonado on drums and percussion, and myself on bass, piano and percussion.

One and a Half Minute Minuet - This started out as an exercise when I was studying classical arrangement. I decided later to expand it out.

Pan's Dream - This came from some wild experimentation I was doing. I wasn't going to release it in public but my wife, Teresa, encouraged me to

because she liked it so much.

Springtime Samba - I jammed this song with some different people and had a lot of fun with it. This was the largest pure MIDI recording that I have undertaken so far.
